52. George KERST^4,15 was born on 9 Jun 1773 in Union Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 13 Jun 1808 in Union Township, Berks Co., PA. He was buried in St. Gabriel's Church, Douglassville, PA. Received from father the oil mill plantation and tract bought from Matthias Brooke, 120 acres in all. Will dated 12 July 1808 for this George of Union Twp. Adm. brother Samuel and father-in-law Jacob Ergood. The property sale of his land in Union Twp., 29+ acres, dated 9 Apr 1827, after the children were 'adults', and most of them married, they signed off on the sale of the land to Jonathan JONES: Children Samuel KERST, of Alsace Township and Susan his wife, Jacob KERST of Union Township, Samuel MILLAR[D] and Elinor his wife, John MILLAR[D] and Ann his wife, Robert STRATTON and his wife Elizabeth KERST. The judge interviewed each of the females alone and independent of their husbands, to make sure they were signing of their own volition and without collusion.

George KERST and Mary ERGOOD were married about 1796. Mary ERGOOD¹⁵ was born about 1781. She died in Feb 1860 in Union Township, Berks Co., PA. Mary Ergood Kerst married second to Frederick Houck. Fred died Oct 1859 in Union Twp. Both are on the 1860 mortality schedule. Mary was a daughter of Jacob Ergood and Anna Retge. Jacob and Anna married at St James Episcopal Church in Lancaster County on 11 June 1775.

Anna died 2 years later - intestate: Anna ERGOOD, Union Twp., widow. Adm to George ERGOOD, son on 1/9/1817. George KERST and Mary ERGOOD had the following children:

186	i.	Samuel E. KERST was born on 13 Feb 1799 in Union Township, Berks Co., PA. He was baptized on 8 Aug 1799 in Salem Reformed Church, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. He died about 1859 in Washington Township, Berks Co., PA. Samuel married a Susan and lived in Alsace Township in 1827. Susan was born Abt. 1801 in Birdsboro. She died 3 Aug 1861 in Port Clinton, PA.
