Born at the Fisher Homestead, he was raised on the farm and educated at the Oley Academy. He was qualified to be a teacher at age 16 and later became county superintendent of schools. He also operated a huckster business, (we would call it farm produce today). He eventually bought the Fisher Homestead. He served as a director of the Farmer's National Bank of Boyertown and was an organizer of the First National Bank of Oley. He was a member of the Berks County Historical Society. Olivia B.
