140. Jeremiah REIDER^3,20,29,59 was born on 2 Jan 1838 in Earl Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 30 Apr 1923 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Must have been last to die, date of death never placed on stone. Per the 1880 Census, Jeremiah was a carpenter, and in 1880, he lived at 712 Deems St., Reading. Found Jeremiah and Mary in Oley Township in 1860 Census, with son Albert. City directory of 1890 lists Jeremiah as a grocer at 1171 Cotton Street. In 1917 directory he is living at 937 North 11th Street, probably his son Oliver's home.

Jeremiah REIDER and Maria ANGSTADT were married about 1859. Maria ANGSTADT^3,4,59 was born on 31 Mar 1835 in Berks County, PA. She died on 14 Sep 1875 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Maria died from rupture of an Ovarian Cyst. Jeremiah REIDER and Maria ANGSTADT had the following children:

325	iii.	Alice REIDER39 was born on 28 Aug 1864 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. She was baptized on 16 Oct 1864 in Friedens Union Church, Oley, PA. Baptized by Rev. Philip Hoffman.
326	iv.	Gideon REIDER26,29,59 was born on 21 Jan 1870 in Oley, Berks Co., PA. He died on 25 Aug 1918 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Gideon died of heart failure at his home at 937 North 11th Street, Reading, PA. He was employed for 30 years with Orr and Sembower, Inc. as a boilermaker. He never married. He was a member of the Neversink Fire Company. Per his obit, surviving brothers were Albert in Philadelphia and Oliver in Reading. Step brothers were Jeremiah and Paul.
327	v.	Maria REIDER4,59 was born in Jul 1874 in Reading, PA. She died on 30 Jun 1875 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Died from convulsions.

Jeremiah REIDER and Sarah CARVER were married on 12 Aug 1876. Sarah CARVER^4,29 was born about 1841 in Lebanon County, PA. She died about 1882. Son Jeremiah's obit has her as Sallie Carbel. And oddly the 1880 Census has a 14 year old servant living with Jeremiah and Sarah: Ella Carvel. I cannot find her death record or burial. Suspect she died in child birth, and was living with her parents in Lebanon County to give birth. Her baby was placed in Alms House, probably because Jeremiah couldn't take care of a baby. 330	iii.	Charles W. REIDER4,26,29,59 was born on 6 Feb 1880 in Reading, PA. He died on 10 Jul 1880 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Died from cholera and convulsions.
331	iv.	Sallie REIDER59 was born in Dec 1881 in Reading, PA. She died on 25 May 1882 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Lived at the Alms House? Note per Aulenbachs. Reading death records have her as Gertrude Rider, 8 months. Died from convulsions.

Jeremiah REIDER and Matilda BLOCH were married about 1885. Matilda BLOCH^26,59 was born on 15 Mar 1841. She died on 5 Dec 1909. She was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Matilda died at her home in Reading, where she was sick for eight weeks prior to her death. She had a sister Mrs. Annie Kline. Matilda was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Children of her husband were listed as step children.
