He was baptized on 28 Oct 1750 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died in 1828 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Johannes Reider was a farmer who was reported to have lived near the Oley & Pike Township line, in the vicinity of Lobachsville, as per Morton Montgomery's History of Berks County, (page 970). Also described as a stone house 1 1/2 miles NE of Oley. The US Census of 1790 has Johannes living in Oley Township with two sons and three daughters, so my current list of family members is missing a daughter, or someone elses daughter, or possibly the census recorder thought Daniel was a daughter. His neighbor, per the same census, is Christopher Schlockerman, who will become a father in law of son Johannes W. Reider. Note further, since Pike Township wasn't formed till 1812, Johannes and Esther's homestead may well be in present day Pike Township. In a sister in law's will of 1830, Hannah Weidner leaves inheritance to Johannes and Esther's seven children. Esther is deceased. From early, unsourced, Reider Family data, which has Johannes born 1765, I can find nothing to substantiate and will therefore go with something that makes some sense. Especially since Esther was born circa 1753. Johannes C. REIDER
and Esther WEIDNER were married in 1778 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA.
Esther WEIDNER4,9 (daughter of Tychius Detrich WEIDNER
and Anna Maria HILL) was born in 1753 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA.
She died on 1 Feb 1813 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. She was
buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA. Other researchers have
Johannes' wife as Susanna Weidner which is based on the headstone reading of
Johannes which stated his wife to be Susanna. It appears her full name might
have been Maria Esther Susanna or Maria Susanna Esther. The Reider family apparantly
called her Susanna; however, her father, Tichycus Weidner, referred to her as
Esther, wife of Johannes Reider in his will. Esther does have a sister Susanna,
who married Johannes Keim. I'm also drawn to a death record at First Reformed
Church, Reading, of Esther Reiter, died of dropsy 1 February 1813, age 60, and
will assume that is she till I discover otherwise. She is probably buried at
Friedens Cemetery beside Johannes, but the headstone is long gone, or never existed.
Johannes C. REIDER and Esther WEIDNER had the following children:
