He was a resident of the Manor Care Health Services in Spring Township, where he died on Tuesday. William graduated from the Reading High School for boys in 1925. He was employed for 48 years as the assistant general secretary of the former Reading Company YMCA, retiring in 1973. He was a former secretary of the YMCA's of North America and the National Assoc. of Retired Railroad employees. He was secretary of the Hungry Club of Reading in 1979, and had been President of the former Bean Club of Reading. Prutzman was also a past treasurer of Boy Scout Troop 223 of Reading. He was a member of St. Paul's UCC Church in Reading. He is survived by his wife Ruth, a resident of Country Meadows of Wyomissing, a son Peter W., living in Arkadelphia, AK; and two grandchildren. She died on 31 Aug 2007 in Sinking Spring, PA. Living at Country
Meadows of Wyomissing, when her spouse died in 1999. Ruth died in Manor Care,
Sinking Spring, where she was a resident. She was a daughter of the late Harold
and Emily (Leinbach) Dietrich. She was employed as a librarian in Reading School
District, serving in the Glenside and Riverside elementary schools. She was a
graduate of Reading High School, and a 1939 graduate of Beaver College (now Arcadia).
She was a life member of the YMCA, Beaver College Alumni Association, PA School
Librarian Association and PA Association of School Retirees. She is survived
by a son, Peter W. Prutzman and wife, Linda, and two grandchildren, all of Arkadelphia,
Ark. Also surviving are a brother, Bruce L. Dietrich and wife, Renee, Wyomissing;
and nieces and nephews.
