139. John A. BROTZMAN¹⁶ was born on 24 Jan 1824 in Jonestown, Lebanon Co., PA. He died on 28 Jan 1888 in Clinton County, PA. John resided in Lock Haven. He was a brick mason and later a broom maker. He enlisted in the US Army, Co. A, Infantry on 15 May 1847 during the Mexican War.

John A. BROTZMAN and Elizabeth SIGMUND were married after 1847. Elizabeth SIGMUND¹⁶ was born on 21 Mar 1829 in Pennsylvania. She died on 6 Jan 1899 in Clinton County, PA. Daughter of Samuel and Rosanna Sigmund. Born at Salona, PA. John A. BROTZMAN and Elizabeth SIGMUND had the following children:

249	i.	Ella Virginia BROTZMAN16 was born in 1858 in Clinton County, PA. She died on 15 Sep 1909 in Clinton County, PA. Born and died in Lock Haven, PA. Married John Schooley on 21 Sept. 1876 in Lock Haven. Had sons Harry and Frank, and a daughter Nellie. Buried in Highland Cemetery, Clinton Co., PA. (Nellie married Edward C. Drumm, who's daughter Marion married Walter K. Bergey, who in turn begat David Bergey, who married the source for this family, Linda (nee Helmer) Bergey.
250	ii.	Rose Margaret BROTZMAN16 was born in 1865 in Clinton County, PA. She died on 8 Apr 1934 in Clinton County, PA. Born and died in Lock Haven, PA. Married William F. Sperring on 10 March 1887. Had no issue. Buried in Highland Cemetery, Clinton Co., PA.
