630. Dr. William S. BERTOLET1,49 was born in 1875 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 9 October 1946 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. William was educated in Oley and Fleetwood schools. He further attended Kutztown Normal School, Franklin and Marshall College and University of Pennsylvania. He opened his office in Reading as a physician in 1900. He became skilled as a cardiologist and was chief of the cardiologist staff at the Reading Hospital in 1932. He was also survived by a sister Gertrude, married to Robert Flesheim.

Dr. William S. BERTOLET and Mary Estella HERBINE were married on 27 June 1905. Mary Estella HERBINE1 was born on 5 October 1875. She died on 15 June 1954. She was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA.

John Herbine BERTOLET1,49 was born on 8 May 1906 in Reading, PA. He died on 24 October 2004 in Wyomissing, PA. John H. Bertolet, past president of a Reading law firm, died at the Highlands, Wyomissing Skilled Nursing Unit, where he had been a patient 10 days. John was a resident of the Highlands for three years. Formerly of Pennside, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret M. (Cook) Bertolet, on Aug. 18, 1990. He was associated with the Reading law firm of Stevens & Lee during his entire career and served as president from 1972 to 1982. Bertolet retired in 1989 but remained affiliated with the firm until his death. His specialties were in the areas of banking, business and estate planning. He was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1931. Bertolet was a 1923 graduate of the Reading Boys High School and a 1927 graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, Lancaster. He was a 1931 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Philadelphia. He was a former director of the Berks County Visiting Nurses Association, Kutztown Foundry & Machine Co. and Leininger Knitting Co., Mohnton. Bertolet served as a director of Reading Eagle Company from June 1962 to April 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Mary M. Bertolet, Yarmouth, Maine; and three sons: William C., Philadelphia; Frederick C., Hilton Head, S.C.; and John C., Boothbay, Maine. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren.

Mary BERTOLET1 was born on 14 November 1909 in Reading, PA. She died on 20 December 2002 in Harrisburg, PA. Received a degree from Bryn Mawr College in 1931. Lived in Harrisburg, PA.
