148. Samuel G. BERTOLET^14,24 was born on 15 November 1804 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 19 February 1864. He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA.

Samuel G. BERTOLET and Lydia D. GULDIN were married in 1828. Lydia D. GULDIN⁴¹ was born on 1 April 1809 in Berks County, PA. She was baptized on 6 May 1810.

298	vi.	George G. BERTOLET41 was born on 16 July 1842 in Berks County, PA.
299	vii.	Mary G. BERTOLET41 was born on 18 October 1844 in Berks County, PA.
300	viii.	Albert G. BERTOLET41 was born on 3 January 1847 in Berks County, PA. Mustered with Co. G, 11th Regiment, PA Militia in September 1862, serving just 12 days. It maybe possible that an Albert Bertolet, buried at Santa Paula, CA, is this Albert. For that to be possible, we have to believe he lied about his age when he enlisted 16 September 1861 and served in Co. B 50th Pennsylvania Infantry. He mustered out on 30 July 1865. He stated his age as 20 when he enlisted, this Albert would have been 14 1/2 at the time. It was not unusual for a person to lie about their age, and be accepted. Recruiters were eager to meet their quota. He was noted as 5'4" tall, had dark hair, dark complection and hazel eyes. He and his wife, after the War, moved to Santa Paula, CA.
