He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. He began the study of pharmacy as a clerk in Dr. J.H. Stein's drug store. In 1879 he went to Chicago where he was employed in several wholesale drug stores. In 1884 he returned East to Lock Haven, PA, where he worked 2 years with Dr. T.C. Hilton. Then he returned to Reading where he again worked with Dr. J.H. Stein before he opened his own drug store at 850 Penn Street. He sold his store to his clerk Weaver Shearer after seven years, due to his failing health. He served as Berks County Coroner for three years, his term expired in December 1897. He died from a throat disease. He was a member of the Reading Lodge No. 549, Free & Accepted Masons; Fraternity Castle, No. 302, Knights of the Golden Eagles; and Olivet Presbyterian Church. Dr. John C. GRIESEMER and Mary L. BAYARD were married about 1882 in Chicago, IL. Mary L. BAYARD90 was born about 1861 in Illinois. She died on 15 September 1933 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Was unable to find an obit in Reading Eagle. Dr. John C. GRIESEMER and Mary L. BAYARD had the following children:
