He later studied law and became a prominent insurance and real estate salesman in Reading. In 1870 his office was at 40 North 6th Street, and his home at 133 South 3rd Street, Reading. Known as Charles in the History of Berks Co., as Carl in the Griesemer Book. He was a member of the Salome Lodge No. 105; I. O. O. F., Mt. Penn Lodge No. 65; Knights of Pythias; Knights of the Golden Eagle No. 312 and Camp 312, Patriotic Order Sons of America. He attended the Second Reformed Church in Reading and was a Sunday School teacher there. Charles Augustus Zacharias GRIESEMER and Mary BITTING were married on 24 December 1867. Mary BITTING17,52 was born on 27 October 1842 in Reading, PA. She was baptized on 12 August 1843 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. She died in February 1917 in Reading, PA.
