4. Casper GRIESEMER^1,3 was born on 13 March 1715 in Lampertheim, Hesse. He emigrated on 29 August 1730 from Philadelphia, PA. He died in 1794 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Casper was buried in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. Casper has a nice plaque erected for him as the pogenitor of the Griesemer's in Pennsylvania. Plaque notes him as a French Huguenot pioneer who traveled to America from the Palatinate in 1730, on the ship "Thistle." He received a 50 acre land warrant in Philadelphia County on 22 November 1737. Casper and Rebecca established their homestead on land of Rebecca's father, which Rebecca inherited in 1749 when her father died. Casper purchased additional land in 1754. The 1767 Tax List has him owning 25 acres in West District Township, probably his father's land. Casper was buried on the homestead when he died in 1794. However, his remains were later removed in 1870 and buried at Oley Cemetery by concerned descendants.

Casper GRIESEMER and Rebecca ASCHMANN were married about 1745 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Rebecca ASCHMANN¹ was born on 14 May 1723 in Berks County, PA. She died on 14 February 1810. Daughter of Abraham Ashman/Eschelman and Elizabeth.

22	ix.	Susannah GRIESEMER1 was born about 1764 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Married John Kerlin late in life, they had no children. Stood in as a sponsor for a number of her siblings children's baptisms.
