Kate Butz GRIESEMER and Ambrose Lang RHOADS were married in 1919. Ambrose Lang RHOADS^24,49,53 was born on 23 February 1857 in Earl Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 27 February 1936. He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Ambrose was baptized in St. Joseph's Hill Church, Pike Township, Berks Co., PA. Ambrose was engaged in the produce business at 333 Penn Street, under the name A. L. Rhoads and Company. He specialized in butter, eggs, cheese, lard and smoked meats. He served as the Reading city controller from 1907 to 1910. In 1915 he sought re election to the office; but withdrew from the campaign near its end due to the illness of his first wife. Mr. Rhoads attends St. Paul's Reformed Church, Reading. He is fraternally connected with Oley Lodge, No. 218, International Order of Odd Fellows. Ambrose also served ten months as warden at the old jail at 11th and Penn Streets.
