156. Dr. Peter G. BERTOLET^1,46 was born on 11 June 1822 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 8 March 1865 in Berks County, PA. He was buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA. Studied medicine under the celebrated Dr. Joseph Pancoast of Philadelphia. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, and practiced medicine in Oley. He was an examining surgeon in the provost marshall's office at Reading during the Civil War. He wrote a manuscript, "Fragments of the Past: A History of Oley and Vicinity", now in the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Peter G. BERTOLET and Amelia K. SPANG were married on 25 November 1845 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. Amelia K. SPANG⁴⁶ was born on 25 March 1824 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. She died on 28 September 1876. She was buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA. Married by Rev. A.T. Geissenhainer.

339	i.	Robert Morris BERTOLET MD46 was born on 10 October 1846 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 10 May 1882. He was buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA.
340	ii.	Alfred Spang BERTOLET14 was born on 18 August 1849 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died in April 1947 in Indiana. Alfred settled in Illinois, he was a professor or teacher. He was unmarried. Alfred died in in Newton County, Indiana, and is buried in Oakland Cemetery near Morocco, Newton County, IN. Birth date shown on the cemetery records is August 18, 1847.
