72. Jacob Hoch GRIESEMER1,3,12 was born on 24 September 1796 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 3 May 1845. He was buried in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. Lived with his parents till 1811. In the fall of 1811, at age 15, he started to attend English school. Received 1500 pounds in cash from his father's estate. He built a flouring mill in Exeter Township near the Black Bear Inn, and operated a farm near Griesemersville. Jacob kept family records in his bible, written in German. At the time of his death, he was a Captain in the Berks County Militia.

Jacob Hoch GRIESEMER and Rebecca VAN REED were married on 10 December 1820. Rebecca VAN REED1,3 was born on 14 June 1800 in Pennsylvania. She died on 22 March 1824. She was buried in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA.

Rebecca GRIESEMER1 was born on 12 October 1823 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. She was baptized on 23 March 1824. She died before 1898. Baptized by Rev. Leinbach. Married first to John S. Leiss on 4 May 1841. John died 29 March 1857. She married second to V.R.Moore

Jacob Hoch GRIESEMER and Susannah ZACHARIAS were married on 23 January 1825. Susannah ZACHARIAS1,3 was born on 17 August 1805 in Alsace Township, Berks Co., PA. She died on 6 February 1890. She was buried in Oley Cemetery, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. Daughter of Daniel Zacharias and Elizabeth Reiff.

Ephraim Zacharias GRIESEMER1 was baptized on 25 March 1831. He was born on 8 October 1831. He died on 7 August 1852 in California. Was attending Freeland Seminary, now Ursinus College in Collegeville, in 1852, when he and two friends decided to seek their fortune with the gold rush to California. All three died at sea from Isthmus Fever and diarrhea contracted at Acapulco. He was buried at sea.
