And later he was a meter reader with Met Ed, now GPU electric company, retiring in 1974. As a young man, Bill was an amateur boxer. He was a life member of the Democratic Socialists of America, American Civil Liberties Union, Robesonia Pioneer Hose Company and the National Organization for Women. He attended the Institute of The Arts, Wyomissing, where he studied the Russian language. Virginia had worked at Charcoal Chef in St. Lawrence. She and first husband had one daughter. Although divorced from second husband Ray, she remains good friends.
