He was baptized on 12 September 1824 in Salem Reformed Church, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. He died on 12 April 1905 in Reading, PA. Benneville was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Benneville was apprenticed to Benjamin Moser at 16, to learn the trade of carriage building. He first married to Hannah B. Halloway on 4 July 1844, in Salem Reformed Church. She died elevan days after the birth of Effinger. Benneville was reported to be a little embarrassed about being a year younger then Hannah, so with this marriage he started giving his year of birth as 1821. Benneville married second to Harriet F. Herb and in 1850 census they were recorded in Earl Township. They later relocated to Philadelphia. While living in Philadelphia, diphtheria swept thru the Prutzman home in November 1856, killing four children. The four young bodies were taken by wagon to Aulenbach Cemetery for burial. The family then moved to Reading in 1857. Benneville served twice during the Civil War, 30 July 1861 to 27 June 1862, as a Corporal with Company L, 1st Cavary, 44th PA Regiment, from which he received a medical discharge; and 3 February 1864 to 7 August 1865, as a Private with Company F, 5th Calvary, 65th PA Regiment. Benneville was at Appomattox when General Robert E. Lee surrendered to General U.S.Grant, 9 April 1865. His service discharge papers described him as 5 feet 9 inchs, dark complexion, dark hair, grey eyes. Benneville was noted as a carpenter at the time of his death of senile debility. He last resided at 624 Moss St., Reading. Benneville Griesemer PRUTZMAN and Hannah B. HOLLOWAY were married on 4 July 1844 in Salem Reformed Church, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. Hannah B. HOLLOWAY13,32 was born on 1 November 1822. She was baptized on 1 June 1823 in St. Paul's Union Church, Amity Township, PA. She died on 23 January 1846. Hannah was buried in Amityville United Brethren Cemetery, PA. Apparantly died during, or shortly after child birth, First Reformd Church in Reading says she died of Precep Fever. Daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Holloway. Brother Levi B.Holloway was post master of the Douglasville Post Office from 1865 till January 1886, when George S. Reider took over. Benneville Griesemer PRUTZMAN and Harriet F. HERB were married on 16 August 1848 in Philadelphia, PA. Harriet F. HERB9 was born on 8 January 1826. She died on 17 March 1896.
