He was buried in Aulenbach Cemetery, Reading, PA. Worked in the wool factory in 1880 census. He was living at 36 Orange St. in 1890 Reading directory with brother William. His obit refers to him as a retired janitor of the Met. Edison Company. He died at his home at 1258 Carbon Street, Reading. Hiram was a member of Camp 238, P.O.S. of A., and the Juniata Tribe, No. 74 of the Improved Order of Red Men. Hiram and Annie had two daughters: Lottie, wife of Edwin Trumbore of Reading, and Mary, wife of Milton Latshaw.
