194. Franklin BITTING^{8,25,26,30,40} was born on 16 Mar 1822 in Reading, PA. He was baptized on 5 May 1822 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. He died on 5 Apr 1901 in Carlisle, PA. He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Franklin was a veteran of the US - Mexican War and he also served 3 months with the PA Volunteers during the Civil War. He also spent 3 years in California as a 49er. In 1870 Census he was a printer, living in Reading's 8th Ward. He had his father living with him. Still a printer in 1890 Reading directory; but soon retired and moved to Carlisle, probably to be near his daughter and possibly grandchildren.

Franklin BITTING and Mary Margaret STAHLE were married in 1864 in Reading, PA. Mary Margaret STAHLE^30,40 (daughter of Benjamin STAHLE and Catharine BROBST) was born on 12 Mar 1839 in Reading, PA. She was baptized on 25 Feb 1844 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. She died in Nov 1916 in Carlisle, PA. She was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Franklin BITTING and Mary Margaret STAHLE had the following children:

305	ii.	Henry Harry BITTING40 was born in 1867 in Reading, PA. With so many Henrys in the Bitting line, this Henry decided to go by Harry. He is reported by a descendant to have moved to Margate, NJ.
