by his first wife, Rosella E. (Griswold) Bitting, and by his second wife, Dora
B. (Spitler) Bitting. Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Winfield S.
and Ella M. (Zuber) Bitting. Bitting had been employed for 30 years as an industrial
engineer draftsman by Bethlehem Steel Corp., Pottstown, until his retirement.
He was credited with having worked on the handrail drawings for the Golden Gate
Bridge, San Francisco. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown.
Bitting is also survived by a daughter, Nancy L. (Bitting) Ludwig, Pottstown;
a stepdaughter, Ruth M. Schucker, Sinking Spring; and two stepsons, James H.
Schucker, Palmyra, Lebanon County, and John C. Schucker, Stockton, N.J. He was
predeceased by a stepson, Richard Scharff. Buried in Highland Memorial Park,
