234. Jonathan W. BITTING^38,47 was born in 1862 in New Hanover Township, Montgomery Co., PA. He died in 1937. Lived in Pottstown in 1903. Owned a grocery store on Charlotte Street in Pottstown.

Jonathan W. BITTING and Ellen A. KNOLL were married. Ellen A. KNOLL was born in 1866. She died in 1954. Jonathan W. BITTING and Ellen A. KNOLL had the following children:

328	i.	Flora Knoll BITTING47 was born in 1887 in Pottstown, PA. She died in 1963.
329	ii.	Raymond Knoll BITTING47 was born in 1889 in Pottstown, PA. He died in 1967.
330	iii.	Norman Knoll BITTING47 was born in 1890 in Pottstown, PA. He died in 1987 in Pottstown, PA. Married Edna Brunner per Pottstown Ledger Newspaper. Marie Ackerman, 87, formerly of Pottstown and Boyertown, died 7 Feb. 2005 in her residence in Chestnut Knoll, Boyertown. Her husband, Dr. Harold M. Ackerman, died in 1993. Born in Pottstown, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Edna (Brunner) Bitting. Ackerman was employed by Mrs. Smith's Pie Co. and Jacob's Aircraft, both of Pottstown, and was also employed as office manager and bookkeeper in her husband's dental practice in Boyertown until her retirement. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Pottstown. Surviving are a daughter, Doris Jane Ackerman, Reading; and a son, Dwight M., Birdsboro. Other survivors include a brother, Donald Bitting, Sanatoga, Montgomery County; and three sisters: Ruth Elaine (Bitting) Henricks, Pottstown; Grace (Bitting) Harty, Berwick, Columbia County; and Jane (Bitting) Fritz, Melbourne, Fla. There are also two grandchildren. Burial will be in Pottstown Cemetery West.
331	iv.	Clarence Knoll BITTING47 was born in 1892 in Pottstown, PA. He died in 1964.
332	v.	Ethel Knoll BITTING was born in 1894 in Pottstown, PA. She died in 1895 in Pottstown, PA.
