250. William Henry BITTING30,33,40 was born on 10 Aug 1848 in Reading, PA. He was baptized on 14 May 1849 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. He died on 12 Nov 1926 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Well known tinsmith and for years was actively identified with the Republican party. He had served 25 years as a councilman from the 5th Ward. William conducted his tinsmith shop on Penn Street, near 2nd, and later at 3 North 2nd Street. He partnered with Walter Prutzman to form the Bitting & Prutzman Stove and Tinsmith Co. at 304 Penn Street. He was an active Mason and a charter member of the Rajah Temple. Member of Chandler Lodge 227, Free and Accepted Masons, and DeMolay Commandery No. 42, and the Knights Templar. Bill had been suffering from Bright's disease, which brought on a weakened heart. He died at his home at 110 South 3rd Street, Reading, on Friday night.

William Henry BITTING and Alice GOODHART were married about 1870. Alice GOODHART33,38 was born on 8 Sep 1850. She died on 9 Mar 1926 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Daughter of Reuben Goodhart, survived by three girls. William Henry BITTING and Alice GOODHART had the following children:
