88. John Schenkel BERTOLET^4,15,32 was born in Sep 1781 in Berks County, PA. He died on 18 May 1833. John married second to Elizabeth Reiff, the widow of Peter Guldin. This second marriage had no issue. John was a farmer and large land owner, and engaged in the manufacture of iron at Spring Forge. He also operated a stage line between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. He was considered a man of great wealth.
