483. Charles Augustus Zacharias GRIESEMER^10,19 was born on 19 Feb 1841 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He was baptized on 11 Apr 1841 in Salem Reformed Church, Spangsville, Berks Co., PA. He died in Feb 1899 in Reading, PA. He was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Attended public schools and the Oley Academy. Graduated from Freeland Seminary (Ursinus College) and became a teacher in Bern, Oley and Richmond Townships. He later studied law and became a prominent insurance and real estate salesman in Reading. In 1870 his office was at 40 North 6th Street, and his home at 133 South 3rd Street, Reading. Known as Charles in the History of Berks Co., as Carl in the Griesemer Book. He was a member of the Salome Lodge No. 105; I. O. O. F., Mt. Penn Lodge No. 65; Knights of Pythias; Knights of the Golden Eagle No. 312 and Camp 312, Patriotic Order Sons of America. He attended the Second Reformed Church in Reading and was a Sunday School teacher there.

Charles Augustus Zacharias GRIESEMER and Mary BITTING were married on 24 Dec 1867. Mary BITTING^55,81 (daughter of Jeremiah D. BITTING Esq. and Catharine S. NAGLE) was born on 27 Oct 1842 in Reading, PA. She was baptized on 12 Aug 1843 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Reading, PA. She died in Feb 1917 in Reading, PA. She was buried in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Charles Augustus Zacharias GRIESEMER and Mary BITTING had the following children:
