466. Samuel Ritter GRIESEMER^19,33,54 was born on 28 Jun 1812 in Amity Township, Berks Co., PA. He was baptized on 20 Sep 1812 in St. Paul's Union Church, Amity Township, PA. He died on 15 Mar 1902 in Exeter Township, Berks Co., PA. He was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amity Township, PA. Samuel operated the Griesemer Mill on the Monocacy Creek till 1871, when he gave up that work to devote himself to farming on the land he bought in Amity. He sold the mill to George Brown. After farming some years he retired, and moved to Exeter, where he died.
He was a prominent man in his time, and was public spirited and progressive, standing high in his community. He was one of the founders and organizers of the Amityville cemetery, and was liberal in his donations to the church. He was of dark complexion, and was five feet and nine inches in height.

Samuel Ritter GRIESEMER and Matilda BABB were married about 1836. Matilda BABB^19,33,54,56 was born on 2 Feb 1815. She died on 16 Aug 1896. She was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amity Township, PA. Samuel Ritter GRIESEMER and Matilda BABB had the following children:

978	i.	Catharine GRIESEMER33,54 was born on 26 May 1837 in Amity Township, Berks Co., PA. She was baptized on 31 Jul 1837 in St. Paul's Union Church, Amity Township, PA. She died on 6 May 1905. She was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amity Township, PA.
979	ii.	Franklin S. GRIESEMER33,54 was born on 14 Aug 1839 in Amity Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 19 Jun 1917. He was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amity Township, PA.

982	v.	John W. B. GRIESEMER33 was born on 28 Dec 1850. He died on 8 Mar 1873 in Amity Township, Berks Co., PA. He was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amity Township, PA. I haven't any proof that John belongs with this family, but he fits in so nice. History of Berks, 1909 also supports this conclusion. John died in Amity township, leaving a widow and two sons, Samuel and Harvey.
983	vi.	Anna Louisa M. GRIESEMER33 was born on 17 Jun 1856 in Amity Township, Berks Co., PA. She died on 3 Feb 1862. She was buried in St. Paul's Cemetery, Amity Township, PA.
