527. Charles Hoch REIFF^6,53 was born on 6 Jan 1831 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died on 13 Mar 1909. He was buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA. Charles served nine months during the Civil War with Company C, 167th PA Volunteers. He worked for his father until he was thirty-five years of age, and then began for himself, on a part of the homestead, there continuing until his death. He owned a fine farm of 170 acres, and was one of the heavy tax payers of Oley township. He was prominent in public affairs and served as school director for three years and as auditor for a like period. His family are Lutheran members of Friedensburg Church, of which Mr. Reiff had been deacon and elder. He was a trustee of the building committee, that erected the present church edifice in 1883.

Charles Hoch REIFF and Catharine Hannah ANGSTADT were married on 17 Jan 1872. Catharine Hannah ANGSTADT^6,10,53 (daughter of Aaron ANGSTADT and Catherine Steffy HULL) was born on 5 Dec 1849 in Berks County, PA. She died on 13 Oct 1911. She was buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA. Hoch and DeTurck books have her listed as Hannah C. Angstadt, headstone has Catharine H. Charles Hoch REIFF and Catharine Hannah ANGSTADT had the following children:

1135	vii.	Jacob Angstadt REIFF6 was born on 3 Nov 1881. Died in New Orleans.
1136	viii.	Emma Angstadt REIFF6 was born on 21 Nov 1885. She died on 17 Sep 1919. Married George Stump
