He died on 26 May 1878 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He was buried in Friedens Union Cemetery, Oley, PA. Jacob was the next owner of the Hoch Homestead. He started a brick making business and made the bricks for a barn on one part of the farm known as the "sacred oak" farm. He also made the brick for both houses on the farm after the acreage was devided for another Hoch family. The sacred oak farm house was built with Hoch bricks in 1880, and was then 129 acres large. Jacob continued in the brick business and by 1883 was producing 100,000 bricks per year. Many of the houses in Oley were built with Hoch bricks. He was also a farmer and served for some years as a school director of Oley. Jacob and Catherine also had a son DeTurk Hoch, an undated infant death. Jacob

born on 19 Apr 1817 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. She died on
14 May 1892 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. She was buried in Friedens
